Emily and Ted are SUCH a fun couple. We met up with them in Malibu a few months prior to their wedding for their engagement session. We had planned on a golden sunset and warm light and, instead, minutes before we rolled up, a TON of thick fog rolled in and the tide was so high that we were all soaked head to toe within minutes of starting. Emily and Ted completely rolled with it and ran around along the beach and it was an awesome time.
We were so thrilled that they had asked us to document their rehearsal dinner and wedding near Lake Tahoe. We don’t always have the privilege of being there for the rehearsal dinner, so this time was a real treat. Emily and Ted’s family were an a blast to be around. Not only was the rehearsal dinner set-up absolutely adorable, Ted’s family, who all have incredible talent, stood up and sang multiple songs to the bride and groom (and everyone joined in which was so great). One of our favorite things about being a part of this piece of their story was hearing so many family members stand up and talk about how much they loved the two of them and how much they had already welcomed them into their family forever ago. It was really beautiful.
On the wedding day, Emily and the girls got ready in the cutest a-frame cabin we’ve ever seen. The energy was great and her group of friends were some of the funnest people to photograph. At one point we had them join together to get photos in their robes and they easily became some of our favorite photographs of the day. We may or may not have looked into staying in one of those a-frame cabins next summer while on the drive to their venue.
They exchanged vows with a beautiful, wide open view of a field lined with trees.
Their families threw rose petals as they walked back down the aisle, hand in hand. The joy in their faces was completely priceless.
Thank you so much E + T for inviting us to document your wedding. You two are so wonderful and we couldn’t have pictured a better day!
